Steven Haft is currently Senior Vice President of Innovation at Time Inc. 

Prior to joining Time, Steven spent the past 10 years building Indyworks, a media management consultancy. The company works with for-profit and non-profit enterprises in the digital media, marketing and innovation sectors. 

Haft’s clients have included AOL Inc, The Learning Annex, The Paley Center, Viacom, Neostem, PBS, Afinos, Clean Engines Inc.,TVplus.Com, LiveLook.com, Powhow.Com, Comcast, NY Film Academy, Edelman Worldwide and Burson-Marstellar. 

Outside of Indyworks, Haft  advises Airmedia Group (AMCN:NASDAQ)  in Beijing, and Vaudeville Ventures, a NYC tech accelerator, as Entrepreneur-In-Residence.

Over more than a decade, Steven Haft has established himself as a thought leader on interactive media, emerging technologies, mobile and the Internet.

In 2000 Steven Haft joined AOL, initially as VP/Head of Programming of AOLtv and later as VP/Chief Strategy Officer of AOL’s $1.2 billion Interactive Marketing Group.

Prior to AOL, Steven ran Haft Entertainment, where his films generated 8 Academy Award nominations; BAFTA, Cesar, Donatello Awards and, for television, 8 Emmy nominations and the Peabody Award.  Among his 18 films, Dead Poets Society is one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed films. From 1995-2009, he was also Co-Executive Producer of 300 episodes of Fox comedy series MADtv. Other notable productions include: TNT’s Pirates of Silicon Valley. Steven Haft’s productions generated over $500 million in revenue.

Haft began his film career in documentaries as Executive Producer of the Oscar Nominated Traveling Hopefully, more recently, as Producer of the Oscar short-listed Blindsight. 

Steven Haft started his career in public policy: with The Office of The Mayor of New York, Rockefeller Family Office and the (Ford) Fund for the City. He was Co-Founder of the original Earth Day in 1970. An attorney, Haft spent 3 years on the National Staff of the American Civil Liberties Union.

He is an elected Member of the Motion Picture Academy, Trustee (Emeritus) of The Sundance Institute and was recently elected to a second term on The Producers Guild Executive Committee. Mayor Bloomberg appointed Steven Haft to the Board of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Corporation in ’07. BNY is home to Steiner Studios, the largest production stages on the East Coast. 

He also served on the Board of Directors of the College Television Network (NASDAQ- UCTN) and helped engineer its sale to Viacom in 2002.

A member of The Bar of the United States Supreme Court, Haft was recently elected Vice Chairman of the (White House/DOE) Presidential Scholars Foundation.
