GPF Chairman gives Keynote Speech at Atlantic Trust G2G Impact Summit

New York, NY, October 24, 2014: The Global Partnerships Forum Chairman, Mr. Amir Dossal, was pleased to participate at the Generation to Generation Family Summit (G2G Summit) hosted by Atlantic Trust at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Friday, October 24, 2014. 

Atlantic Trust (member of the CIBC group) is a private wealth management firm that provides personalized and integrated wealth management solutions for successful individuals as well as multi-generational families. At their second G2G Family Summit, Atlantic Trust invited these multi-generational families to the United Nations to provide their clients with the tools and support necessary to begin a collaborative dialogue between the generations about how their family will make their mark on the world.  This special event was hosted under the leadership of Mr. Eric Propper, President of Atlantic Trust and organized by Ms. Linda Beerman, Chief Fiduciary Officer and her team, and the Summit included a number inspiring speakers.  Mr. Propper, welcomed the guests, and stated, “This summit is part of Atlantic Trust’s mission to help multi-generational families come together, in an informal yet structured environment, to realize their family’s collective vision on wealth, leadership and legacy.”

Mr. Dossal, was privileged to give the opening keynote speech, and provided participants an insight into the United Nations.  In his remarks, he touched upon the history of the UN, its governing bodies, its various budgets and its overarching objectives, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mr. Dossal detailed how the power of innovative public-private partnerships has been effective in furthering the UN’s objectives over the past 15 years, which has included philanthropic support from media mogul Ted Turner, and highlighted the necessity to establish more partnerships to address the global challenges we face.
