The GPF is honoured to support the Inaugural World Women’s Health and Development Forum

New York, February 3, 2015: GPF Chairman, Amir Dossal is honoured to be participating in the Inaugural World Women’s Health and Development Forum.  The event will take place in the ECOSOC Chamber at the United Nations on 11-12 February 2015 and is being organised by Her Royal Highness, Princess Nisreen El-Hashemite, BSc MSc MD PhD and the Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT) in partnership with the United Nations Department of Economics and Social Affairs.  Over the two days, the distinguished expert participants will discuss the essential role that a commitment to women’s health around the world will play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Founder of the event and Director of the Royal Academy of Science International Trust, Her Royal Highness Princess Dr. Nisreen, is an internationally renowned researcher and award winner in the fields of arts, literature, humanitarian affairs, and science.  H.R.H. has organized this event in order to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing issues that impact the lives of women, girls, and general society every day. 

World Leaders, United Nations system entities, scientists, healthcare professionals, and members of civil society, the media and the private sector will fill the ECOSOC Chamber to address three main pillars: Health Economics, Health Disparities, and Health Systems and Innovation.  The topics of each have been curated in order to promote action oriented discussions that will have the most significant outcomes.

The event will close with a presentation of a Declaration that will detail an inspiring “Action Agenda” on women’s health for sustainable development.
